This site is dedicated to assist parents who have teen boys or girls age 9-18 that are struggling in the home, school, and community. I hope to save others the many hours and months I spent online, making calls, writing letters, researching schools and programs that specialized in the types of issues my teen and our family faced. Read on and learn how to obtain information on effective options that have a successful history of helping difficult teens and their families. These programs heal the entire family. I know. I am so grateful for the gifts that this has brought to my and my child's life.
Making the decision to seek outside assistance is a difficult one. I realized I had two options:
1) Allow my child to continue on the current path.
2) Remove my child from the current environment and provide the opportunity for a successful future.
While a very difficult decision, the most loving and painful choice was to do what ever I could to give my child a chance at a bright successful future. I found a selection of programs that offered many levels of assistance. The best news was that they seemed tailored to the needs of my child. I now sleep at night knowing that my teen is in a safe, growth oriented, loving environment. My child is attending a program with excellent academic offerings, personal growth seminars, 24 hour security, and learning invaluable tools to succeed in life. The families of teens in these programs are a supportive group. It is very helpful to have others who understand what you are facing.
This is not a profession for me, this is my way of giving others what I and my daughter are receiving in our lives. She is a graduate of one of these wonderful programs and we are closer than ever before and than I ever thought we would be again. This is nothing short of a miracle in our lives.
The testimonial is that a year after graduating the program she has accepted a position to be a staff member at one of the facilities! What better way to give back some of what she received.
